Job Description
Job Title: Regional Tech Lead – Ice & Water & FSS DC Platform Lead
Reports to: GTL-Ice & Water / PDC-Director/NB Panth or FSS Platform Group Lead
Division: Ice & Water - PDC or FSS FRO - PDC
Location: Pune, India
Position Purpose: Coordinate FSS-Ice & water / Water Purifier Product Development Or Coordinate Cost, Quality, Export and Minor Projects of DC platform
Essential Functions:
Work with Global Technology, Marketing, Procurement, GCD and Supplier for Water Business and Ice & Water sub-system -FSS
Should be able to understand and agree/align with cross functions to arrive at the product specifications.
Ability to standardize the design/parts/platforms across the existing & global platforms.
Candidate should be aware of or get trained into Opex tools/ Robust Product Design design concepts and adhere to Whirlpool's C2C and RPD processes.
Need to be conversant with local and international standards relevant to the product.
Work with PA and Lab Engineers for validation of the new products.
Interpretation of lab results and further improvements in the design, if necessary, to be carried out.
Demonstrate Innovation, customer focus during the product development & designs.
Need to travel and make customer visits as part of Product development or Customer complaints handling. Field issues arising out of design defects to be resolved.
Need to interact with Codes agency like Energy Bureau for energy related activities.
Skills and Experience;
Graduation in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical engineering
4 to 10 years of experience with water purification or home appliances.
Exposure to FMEA, Six Sigma tools is preferred.
Product and Testing knowledge in appliance segment preferred.
Must be willing to undertake both domestic and international travels.
Interpersonal skills to lead engineering team and keep them highly motivated
Dynamic, with proactive attitude towards challenges and
flexible to negotiations
