Responsibilities & Activities Description
Lead in the areas of design and testing routine transactional controls as well as activities of more infrastructural nature (help desk) of high risk (and sensitive) units of the client enabling the client Management in assessment at the end of the fiscal year about the effectiveness of the internal control structure and procedures for the financial reporting under Sox 404.
The main responsibility of the Team lead is to lead team for testing routine transactional controls in diverse business areas and processes across North America and Asia. The Team Lead has to demonstrate necessary skills to adapt to diverse cultural issues in carrying out the activities and also interact at various levels of Management. The candidate should be capable of handling assignments both individually and with a team of upto four people The main thrust areas are:
a)Plan and organise the entire assignment right from issuing the notification letter, planning of testing, performance of testing as per guidelines
b)Interact with the client in understanding processes and testing the controls.
c)Maintain cordial relations ship with the client and wherever required assist client in understanding controls and its implementation
d)Discuss the finding and arrive at consensus for remediation if any.
e)Maintain documentation as well as supervise the work of assistants through granting of 1st level approval through Audit Control software
f)Preparing draft report and the finalization and issue of report after discussion with 2nd level approver.
g)Wherever required supervise the specific project, maintain necessary quality standards in performance of the work as 2nd level approver.
The job involves extensive travel (75% )

Other responsibility of the Team Lead is to undertake SOx design and documentation activities whenever required as a part of Sox Risk Management function of CSU. In this activity, he/she is supposed to lead the team in completing the assignment as per laid down Sox documentation guidelines and in meeting the deadlines for completion of such assignments. The Team lead is expected show high level of understanding of various business processes and related internal controls in diverse businesses.
He / She is required to guide Quality Assurance activities on the SOx documentation to ensure timely completion of the respective tasks.
Also, the candidate is required to manage / coordinate on other activities relating to ICS / SOx compliance as and when required.
He / She should assess the performance of team members for each and every assignment and give valuable inputs on their improvement areas.
Skills
1.Leading ICS / SOx testing assignments and ensure adherence to specified guidelines.
2.Liaising with clients during the course of assignment from issuing the engagement letter until finalization of the report. (1&2 –75%)
3.Perform second level review (10%)
4.Guide Quality Assurance activities and coordinate with clients for further actions. (3%)
5.Leading / Managing SOx documentation activities and ensure timely completion of tasks. (10%)
6.Managing / Coordinating other activities relating to ICS / SOx compliance on a need basis. (2%)
This profile requires good team management skills. Also this profile extensive interactions both with client CICO office as well as units in which assignments are in progress. The incumbent is required to manage the team both onsite and offsite, ensure timely completion of assignments and obtaining good customer feedback.
The candidate is expected to be a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive audit and team handling experience. Knowledge of SOX requirements will be an added advantage. The candidate should be willing to travel internationally extensively. The role requires good project management skills, good communication and interpersonal skills. Besides, the role requires adaptability to diverse cultural issues faced during performance of job.
