Responsibilities:
Sound process understanding, Heading a team [TL's & AM's] understanding of operations, team management, BCP planning, understanding of SLAs, quality standards, process improvements.
1.Responsible for the day-to-day accurate, complete, and timely running of their Reconciliations & Control team in line with agreed deadlines.
2.Responsible for the daily verification of reconciliations tasks for completeness and accuracy.
3.Provision of reliable information and assistance as required to other AFS teams in support of the reconciliation process.
4.Act as the first escalation level for all queries from members of their Reconciliations & Control team. Analyze, coordinate and implement solutions to daily production issues. Work with the Reconciliations & Control manager to take corrective action to procedures as necessary.
5.Escalate issues appropriately to the Reconciliations & Control Manager
6.Ensure all departmental procedures are documented and follow Compliance and Internal Audit guidelines.
7.Provide assistance as needed for the take on of additional funds from the Fund Administration location.
8.Development of junior team members including assisting in appraising employee performance and assessing training requirements
9.Assist in the supervision of junior team members including providing leadership, technical
support in analyzing and resolving issues, approving timesheets, scheduling and monitoring
workloads to ensure all deadlines are met.
10.Ad Hoc projects from time to time as necessary
11.To provide additional support (and back up for absences) in the verification tasks of the Reconciliations & Control Manager
12.Plan and implement improvements to the whole reconciliation’s process under the guidance of the Reconciliations & Control Manager with particular emphasis on automation and strengthening controls.
13.Ensure all reconciliation’s statistics are maintained and kept current, all associated Group and department notifications are made per requirements
Professional skills and experience
-Masters/ Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting
-Must have a minimum of 6 years relevant experience or more, with at least 2 years supervisory experience in a daily operations environment with a strong emphasis on reconciliations. Accounting knowledge a plus.
-Understanding of complex investment instruments including derivatives and OTC instruments preferred
-Knowledge of banking systems and processes
-Aptitude for analytic work and problem solving
-Excellent inter-personal and customer service skills
