Designation : Business Development Manager - India.



Job Description:


The Business Development Manager will evaluate and realize opportunities by either the addition of, or the exploitation of, product that has been developed by or Services provided by Verve Communications in pursuit of its target market i.e. India


The Business Development Manager will act as a catalyst for Verve"s management and functional organizations. In pursuit of these responsibilities, the Business Development Manager will evaluate the economic benefits of software product developments and marketing programs to assure an appropriate Return-On-Investment (ROI). This will be achieved by performing the following functions:-


Should demonstrate strong functional & market knowledge of Retail/Multimedia/IT/Pharmaceutical/Retail Banking sector within India
Would be evaluating potential opportunities for the product and services offered by Verve
Should be a confident negotiator and ability to "close the deal"
Should be able to build effective working relationship with the client / client"s interface; dexterity in external interpersonal dealing and realizing new opportunities through customer acquisition plans
Understands the business directions and trends related to the client"s industry
Should take command appropriately; enterprising and effectively persuasive in all business dealings
Knowledgeable about the business aspects of applications related to area of work
Should identify opportunities and convert the same to business deals.
Should play a key strategic interface role between the Customer and the Internal Techno-commercial teams of Verve Communications with the objective of providing end-to-end solutions and be a catalyst to the management.
Should make impactful client presentations to top management of prospective customers and drive business numbers; interacting with the client"s team to understand the needs; identify the pain areas and configure a solution along with domain experts to address the same.
The incumbent will be managing the complete engagement from qualification till closure
Present proposals and subsequent follow-up to win the business
Oversee partner and alliance activity
Be the single point of contact to the client from Business Solutions Division.
Ability to maintain high ethical standards; shows integrity and fairness in dealings; reliable and trustworthy; adheres to the organization"s code of conduct and work practices
Should represent Verve Communications at industry events and trades shows by clearly demonstrating knowledge and expertise




Business Planning: The BDM will develop a business planning template and implement a strategic planning process that will be communicated to Verve"s functional groups. The BDM will work with and counsel the functional groups in order to generate a master business-planning document for the company. A planning calendar and master schedule will be developed to facilitate business planning as a continuous process.


Strategic Markets: The BDM, on a continuous basis, will track and analyze the market for Verve Communications. The analysis will include the evaluation of competitors, their products, and their positions in the market. An opportunity roadmap will be created, and maintained on a continuous basis. Profiles of customers in the end user market will be developed and this profile used to evaluate product and marketing plans.


Customer Acquisition Plans: The BDM will work with the sales organization to identify specific customers within target market segments and develop CAPs (Customer Acquisition Plans) for each segment. The BDM will work directly with the sales force to assure implementation of the CAP.


Strategic Marketing: The BDM will work with marketing, sales and engineering to develop comprehensive plans and strategies that will be used to attack target market segments. A market segmentation scheme will be developed and the segments measured. Appropriate "marketing mixes" will be developed for each market segment. Product/service, Pricing, Promotion and Channels of Distribution evaluations will be made relative to competitors and market conditions and in light of the expected ROI.


Technology Forecasting: Modern technology forecasting techniques will be utilized to discover potential new products & services. At the same time developments in new technologies will be tracked and a technology roadmap developed and maintained.
