Job Profile:
• The main focus of the position is to support technology operations / implementations of new programs.
• Responsible for all Network/IT matters in the company, including leading a team of 6-8 members.
• The Network Manager will be ideally placed to make strategic management decisions dealing with heads of departments, clients and 3rd parties as well as get involved with every aspect of the Network department.
• Responsible for planning the technology infrastructure for various BPO vertical services.

Managing a team of IT Professionals for hardware & software related issues. Manage systems and processes.

• Will be responsible for Implementing systems and practices to ensure that all of the Clients SLAs are met.

Desired Profile:
• Exp- min 5+ years experience in a inbound/outbound international call center handling a 300 seater or more.
• Accountable for LAN, WAN and Telephony for all India locations, spread across 4 cities.
• Experience working in a startup environment and setting up the required infrastructure.
• Should have experience working for IT services / BPO companies.
• In depth knowledge of call center technologies like dialer managers and so on
• In depth knowledge of IT infrastructure in a Windows and Linux set up
• In depth implementation experience in IT Security products (Firewalls, IDS, Antivirus).
• Experience in carrying out IT Network Audits and Vulnerability Penetration Test
• Operational Excellence to manage IT operations for BPOs end to end which includes providing IT Support for process ramp ups for various services, coordination with IT staff of client organization
• Strong understanding of Applications, LAN, WAN, Telecom & Voice.
• Experience in ISO environment a definite plus.
• Must have experience in designing, implementing and maintaining networks.

Immigration News - 13 August 2008

As a reminder for people who entered Britain under the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) scheme prior to 07 November 2006, it is now possible to extend their HSMP under the old rules. People denied an extension to their HSMP visa under rules established after the change can have the UK Border & Immigration Agency (BIA) reconsider their applications. Following a judicial review, the United Kingdom's High Court decided that the BIA acted unlawfully by requiring HSMP visa holders who entered under the old rules to effectively re-qualify under newer, much more difficult requirements.

The travel site, Destination New Zealand, recently conducted a reader survey that shows more people immigrating to New Zealand are using immigration consultants. 47.1% of readers are using an immigration consultant for their applications. The survey also found that many people had difficulty in providing all the documentation required for the application.

It was found that the waiting time was the most inconvenient and irritating part of the immigration process. This perception may have contributed to the increased use of immigration consultants. Professional consultants can help applicants avoid delays by ensuring the required paperwork is complete and correct.

On 12 August 2008, Canada proposed a new immigration scheme called the "Canadian Experience Class." The new immigration scheme would, if passed into law, create a new route to permanent residence and, eventually, citizenship. People applying under the Canadian Experience Class can continue to work in Canada while their application is being processed.

Under the proposed scheme, certain temporary foreign workers and certain foreign student graduates with managerial, professional, or technical/trade work experience would be eligible to become permanent residents and eventual Canadian citizens. Depending upon their occupational skill level, applicants would need to have at least basic or moderate language skills.

Funding has been announced for 11 organizations in the Canadian province of Ontario to help an estimated 1,800 internationally trained professionals improve their language skills. The Canadian federal government will provide over CAD $7.8 million and the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration will provide an additional CAD $3.4 million to agencies in Toronto that provide settlement services for immigrants.

Services are to include specialized language training, help for newcomers to find work, and mentoring and internship placements for internationally trained people. Funding will support services for foreign-trained individuals in specific fields such as health care, engineering, social work, architecture, and finance.

The Business Development Manager will act as a catalyst for Verve"s management and functional organizations. In pursuit of these responsibilities, the Business Development Manager will evaluate the economic benefits of software product developments and marketing programs to assure an appropriate Return-On-Investment (ROI). This will be achieved by performing the following functions:-


Should demonstrate strong functional & market knowledge of Retail/Multimedia/IT/Pharmaceutical/Retail Banking sector within India
Would be evaluating potential opportunities for the product and services offered by Verve
Should be a confident negotiator and ability to "close the deal"
Should be able to build effective working relationship with the client / client"s interface; dexterity in external interpersonal dealing and realizing new opportunities through customer acquisition plans
Understands the business directions and trends related to the client"s industry

Knowledgeable about the business aspects of applications related to area of work
Should identify opportunities and convert the same to business deals.

Business Planning: The BDM will develop a business planning template and implement a strategic planning process that will be communicated to Verve"s functional groups. The BDM will work with and counsel the functional groups in order to generate a master business-planning document for the company. A planning calendar and master schedule will be developed to facilitate business planning as a continuous process.


Strategic Markets: The BDM, on a continuous basis, will track and analyze the market for Verve Communications. The analysis will include the evaluation of competitors, their products, and their positions in the market. An opportunity roadmap will be created, and maintained on a continuous basis. Profiles of customers in the end user market will be developed and this profile used to evaluate product and marketing plans.


Customer Acquisition Plans: The BDM will work with the sales organization to identify specific customers within target market segments and develop CAPs (Customer Acquisition Plans) for each segment. The BDM will work directly with the sales force to assure implementation of the CAP.


Strategic Marketing: The BDM will work with marketing, sales and engineering to develop comprehensive plans and strategies that will be used to attack target market segments. A market segmentation scheme will be developed and the segments measured. Appropriate "marketing mixes" will be developed for each market segment. Product/service, Pricing, Promotion and Channels of Distribution evaluations will be made relative to competitors and market conditions and in light of the expected ROI.


Technology Forecasting: Modern technology forecasting techniques will be utilized to discover potential new products & services. At the same time developments in new technologies will be tracked and a technology roadmap developed and maintained.
